Keeping Strawberries Alive/Thriving - Part 2

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas holiday. We enjoyed a little time just doing the mandatory chores and spending some nice quality family time. This week between Christmas and New Year's usually gets lost in the shuffle, but this year, there's some low 20-degree weather headed our way to keep us focused. A few days before Christmas, I drove to South Carolina to pick up some row cover for the strawberries. Tomorrow, we plan to cover over an acre with this light insulating blanket to help the plants stay warm. In addition to spreading out the covering, we will need to fill over 700 woven bags with 15 lbs of gravel. These bags will be the anchors that keep the covers from blowing off in the wind. As you know, this is a first for us, so it is sure to be an adventure. I'll try to take plenty of pictures and video to share here and on our socials. Wish us luck as we continue to be the old dog trying to learn a new trick.
