Something New

We are cooking up something new here at Carlton Farms. I'm not ready to drop all the information yet, but here is a teaser photo from this past week. My feeling over this past week has been a familiar one, but one that I haven't had in a while. I love the focus and determination it takes to break out of your comfort zone and tackle something completely unfamiliar. The learning curve is straight up, and frankly, the probability of success is questionable. That feeling is intoxicating to me. It takes me back to that scrappy start-up mentality where I feel right at home. There's some kind of agricultural-entrepreneurial spirit inside me that believes I can will things into existence with sheer hard work. That is a feeling that I love, but we can't live there as a business. We have to develop a formula that works and then execute on that formula over and over. Hopefully, getting better and better with every iteration. Long-term success demands consistency. However, that doesn't mean we can't visit the scrappy start-up mindset now and then. Pushing to try something new is the only way to avoid complacency. I have thoroughly enjoyed the last few weeks as I have planned and organized this new venture. It is one more way that we'll be able to use this land to produce an abundance that we can share with all of you who support what we do. Execution is now underway, and I have literally learned 100x what I knew going in. I look forward to sharing all the details very soon.
