Something New... The Pay Off

A few weeks ago, I teased something new happening on the farm, accompanied by the photo of tilled raised beds. I'm here today to pay off that tease. After one extremely long day and another half day that was a little rain-soaked, I am proud to say that we finished planting 15,000 strawberry plants. We still have a long way till spring, but if all goes well, we will have strawberries available online and for u-pick. This was an all-hands effort since we were trying to get everything planted before the rain came in on Monday. It feels great to have this accomplishment, especially since all the kids and the entire Carlton Farms team were involved. It's important for them to see that we can try new things. Even if those new things are hard to accomplish, and we have no experience. We can study to learn what we don't know, and we can strain to put in the hard work that gains us valuable experience. Those lessons were built to be taught on a farm.
