The Carlton Farms Community

The outpouring of support you all showed last week for our co-worker and friend Josh was nothing short of amazing. The kind words and heartfelt notes were uplifting to us all, and the monetary donations will be enough to keep this sad time from being a financial burden on his young family. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

As a Carlton Farms customer, you are a part of our community. This is a community that we never necessarily intended to create, but it happened organically. There are many books and podcasts that will bestow the virtues of community building for small businesses. That's not how this community came about though. It was a much more simple, but long and consistent process. In a nutshell: We committed in 2006 to produce the best quality milk, eggs, and meat that we possibly could. In turn, this community has kept coming back week after week to support our efforts. Each year we try to get better at our craft and produce even higher-quality products, and you guys keep rewarding us by allowing us to be your farmer. That is how small business is supposed to work, and that's how communities are built. It is a great pleasure of mine to be a part of this community, and I hope you feel the same way.

Last week when I saw you all rally around Josh after the passing of his mother, I was more proud than ever.
