On the farm, as in many other aspects of life, we do a lot of work on the front end. The front-loaded work and the daily maintenance during a season eventually culminate in a harvest. The early work and the daily chores are the grind. I'm here to tell you, if you don't enjoy the grind, you'll never make it. I do enjoy the day-to-day grind. If I'm being honest though, there's something special about the harvest. It's that time of year for us. Yesterday I sorted beef, pork, and chicken (all online now). Tomorrow turkeys will be back from the processor, and as soon as they are, they will be listed online. To see months of hard work finally get distilled into a product that you are proud to put your name on will never get old. Enjoy!
