Make Hay While the Sun Shines

The last cutting of hay is getting harvested this week. We'll be cutting, drying, and baling in a rush to beat the late week's rain forecast. It's been a good year for growing hay, but finding dry windows to harvest has been difficult. Hopefully, this week's weather will be kind to us. As soon as the harvest is finished we will start planning for next year. The goal is to get cool-season forages planted right behind this final cutting. It's kind of like an elaborate dance we do with nature every year, and it never gets old.
