Ready, Set, Hay! part 2

I'm pretty sure last week I said no matter how much you prepare and perform preventative maintenance, something can still inevitably break. Well... I was right. After the rain of last week passed, we moved on to field 2 of ryegrass. This field is a little bigger and of similar quality to the one pictured last week. The cutting was fairly uneventful. I had plans to get it all baled up after church. After making only a couple of rounds and about six bales, one of the main belts on the baler broke. Several hours were spent taking it apart and preparing for the repair. It is almost ready, but I need one part from the equipment dealer that I hope to get in the morning. If I can get that part replaced and everything put back together, I should be able to start back baling before the grass loses too much moisture to make silage. Our target moisture level is 50%, but anywhere from 70-35% is acceptable. Here's to hoping for quick repairs and good weather. Yall have a fantastic week.
