Friends, New and Old

I am happy to announce that we have started carrying a new line of cheese. Udderly Cool Creamery is located in Roopville Georgia. I have known Jeff for many years. He and I both graduated from Berry College. He and his wife, Karen, are cheesemaking partners. They source their raw Jersey Cow milk from Berry College and take it to their creamery to make these fantastic artisanal cheeses. Here is a Quick summary of their methods directly from their website - "Udderly Cool Creamery cheese (est. 2010 in the rolling hills of Roopville) is handcrafted in west central Georgia by cheesemakers/owners, Jeff Green and wife Karen. From creamery to customer, all cheese-making processes and packaging are done individually, and BY HAND. Two separate, climate-controlled rooms gently age each wheel at just the right temperature and requisite humidity. Twice each month, they transport 100% fresh, raw milk from the Berry College Dairy in Rome Georgia to the creamery in Roopville. Udderly Cool Cheeses contain no preservatives, antibiotics, artificial ingredients, or colors and will always be the color of the milk from which they are crafted. Heating of the milk is minimal, pasteurizing gently, using the low-temp vat pasteurization method." We only have a small selection of their cheeses online right now, including: "Beddar than Cheddar" - a farmer's style cheese with a natural rind. "Jack" - Monterey style - creamy and mild "Jack and Dill" - Cheeseboard favorite, Delicate, Beautiful In the future, we will carry their complete line of cheese. Here is a teaser of what's to come: Gouda, Applewood Smoked Gouda, Pepper Jack, Sweet Georgia Blue, and a seasonal offering of Fromage Blanc Cream Cheeses. Everything so far has been delicious, and we can't wait to further develop this relationship. In a related story: David Wright from Wright Dairy has supplied our cheese for many years. You may remember a year or so ago I announced that David was retiring. Butter production ended shortly thereafter (more on this next week), but he continued making some cheese for a while. David is no longer making cheese, but we have been selling out of his cheese cave for as long as the supply lasts. We are down to Red Hill Cheddar, Alexandria, and some Pepper cheeses. So enjoy the last of David's cheeses while they last. We probably will have them available for another month or two.
