Brooder prep is in full swing. (cleaning, new wiring, water system maintenance) Chicks will arrive next week. Well... winter was fun but it's time to kick it back into high gear. 400 broiler chicks will be here next Tuesday, and then every few weeks throughout the summer. Our first batch of turkeys will be here in a couple of weeks. If that wasn't enough, we'll be starting a batch of laying hens next month. So, in 30 days we will add over 2000 poultry to our chore list. It's a crazy hectic time on the farm, but it's so fun being surrounded by all this new life. We have the distinct honor of caring for all these creatures every day. That stewardship is a responsibility that we happily shoulder, and never take lightly. Buckle up and let the fun begin.
