Off to the Market

Growing up on a farm you learn that life is a cycle. There is a time to be born, a time to grow and be productive, and eventually a time to die. We raise our animals with the idea that we want to be respectful to each of these phases of life. Today I will hauling a load of lambs (about 20) to the butcher. This is not a step that I ever take joy in, but I understand that it is the last step for this particular cycle. The comfort is in knowing that these animals were born and raised in the fresh air, on fresh grass. They literally spent every day of their lives out on pasture. More lambs have already been born, so the cycle has already started over. For this set, the cycle is almost complete. Fresh, respected, grass-fed lamb will be available in a week or so. Bulk bundles will go online today for next weeks delivery.
